How many centimeters are you dilated?

39 weeks & only dilated 1cm! 😩 Am I behind? Where’s everybody else at? My dr seemed happy and enthusiastic but I’m seeing women are dilated more at this stage

It doesn't mean anything at all. You could go 0-10 very quickly. Or be 4cm for weeks. I wouldn't be concerned. 
I don't know this time as they'll check me at my next appointment, but I was 1cm 50% effaced at 36 weeks with my son. By 39w I was 3cm, and I gave birth at 40w5d. Dilation really means nothing, try not to get discouraged.

Dilation means NOTHING. So I would not get your hopes up or down about anything at this point.

please remember that it takes 40 weeks to grow a baby and unless 100% medically necessary you want your baby to stay in until 40 weeks so that they have enough time for all their systems to grow. I know the end stage is hard I’m currently 38+4 and working full time until I go into labor. Please just be patient, do not rush this process. Your body is amazing and will do what it needs to when the time is right.

37 weeks. Not dilated at all and according to my doctor my cervix “is starting to soften”. Very discouraged as I’ve been drinking red raspberry tea since 27 weeks, taking evening primrose oil since 34 weeks and inserting it since 36 weeks, eating 4 dates a day since 36 weeks, and have ate two whole pineapples including the core in 4 days. 🤷🏻‍♀️ just a waiting game.

With my first I was at 1cm for two months I didn’t have any change till they finally induced me at 42 weeks! It all depends on your body

Currently 39 weeks (3rd child) and only just 3cm. The midwife told me due to previous pregnancies my cervix was 2cm before this dilation had even started. As a previous commentator said, it can happen within a small time frame. Don’t stress yourself that you’re behind. It will happen 🤞🏼🙏🏼👶🏻

Don't get discouraged. As others have said, it doesnt mean much at this point especially if you arent having steady contractions. I've been stuck at 4 cm, 70% effaced for 2 weeks. I have inconsistent extremely uncomfortable contractions everyday. But here I still sit  with no sign of active labor.

Also 39 weeks and only 1cm dilated. This is baby number 2 so I thought I'd be a little more than 1cm but I have heard it really doesn't matter so don't worry!

Been like this for 2 weeks now 
Trying sex and bouncing and walking to help but still no change. 
Appt On Monday so fingers crossed that we have more progress!
