Allergy meds for 1yo?

S

So we had a blood allergy test done back at 9m and no major food group allergies but her IEG reaction levels were high indicating a reaction to something but weren't sure if it was a food or the polyester (which she definitely reacts to)

At her 1yr check up a few days ago the Pedi said he would call in a prescription for some allergy meds "like claritin or zyrtec etc" for her just to curb it while we try to figure out what shes still reacting to.

Well as I was running around the nurse called and said the insurance wont do it so just to pick some up over the counter and so I was like okay cool thanks. But forgot to ask

1.) If theres a particular one that works best and

2.) What kinda dosage to do because now that I'm looking at them everything says under age 2 ask a doctor or dont use.

I plan to call tomorrow to see if a nurse can answer but I know her doc will be put of the office till monday.

And ever since we got out and about and she had her shots, poor little things nose will not stop running like a faucet and now drainage is making her choke (were in missouri were the pollen count is rediculous and it's been pretty windy the last few days)

Any recomendations or brands that worked well for you guys?

*UPDATE*

Looks like the nurse was able to get a prescription for the cetirizine in and with a savings card lower to $10 (yay because my husbands meds are about 60 each)

Gonna give her some after a nap. Thanks for the info guys hoping shell feel better soon
