Okay for baby Laundry?

I have the Kirkland (costco brand) free and clear laundry detergent. I’m 21 weeks now and have been buying and receiving baby clothes and other baby items. I have been just washing them separately with this detergent. I’ve read that the Dreft and other baby targeted detergents are basically the same just more expensive. Is this true is this okay to use?

Honestly think about it, it really doesn’t matter what detergent you use. You might as well use the same on your clothing. Your baby is going to be laying on you, on your clothing anyway. Free and clear ones usually are a little better because there usually isn’t as many different chemicals/scents but again you may just want to use that or another free and clear detergent for your clothes too then. We use all free and clear. We use it on all our clothes and the big thing of it gets use through so many loads of wash and isnt that expensive.

Yea that one is fine. Dreft is disgusting to me, smells nasty and gave my son a rash. We use tide most of the time.

We used to buy Kirkland free and clear and my son never had any issues with it as an infant. However, we buy a different one now (Biokleen) because even though Kirkland did a great job cleaning and was non-irritating, it has an “F” score on EWG for toxic ingredients that can cause cancer and other issues. Dreft also has an “F” I believe and most “baby” products are just as toxic, if not more toxic, than regular products, so you’re definitely better off buying a nontoxic free and clear detergent for the whole family to use.

Whatever you use, be consistent. Something that is dye-free and perfume-free is a good idea, but if you change your mind before the baby is born, make sure you re-wash it all in the new detergent. Don’t change detergents after he comes, that could cause breakouts. 
I don’t like dreft because IMO it’s just tooooo strongly scented. I used Mrs Meyer’s laundry detergent and fabric softener for my daughter’s stuff when she was new.
