35 day cycle - how does it affect my due date?

I'm trying to figure out exactly how far along I am. My average cycle is 35 days, so 7 days longer than the regular 28. 
If I'm calculating based on my LMP which was March 16th, then I would be over 5 weeks along. But when I think about it, I ovulated on the 21st day of my cycle, so shouldn't my baby be only over 4 weeks along developmentally?
Soooo confusing. Any other gals out there with cycles like mine that know? This is my first pregnancy so I'm a newbie! 😆

My last cycle before getting pregnant was 47 days. I think before that was like 42. It made it really hard to guess. What I had to do for me was look back on what I had tracked and make my best guess. I didn’t want to get to my dating scan and actually be weeks behind what I thought I was (feeling like I had to redo weeks almost) so I purposefully under shot it. When I actually had my scan I was a week ahead of my guess (so not when I thought I had ovulated). Being irregular/ having long cycles sucks when it comes to those weeks between your positive home pregnancy test and actually getting to the doctor. I was so anxious to find out how far along I actually was. I didn’t want to tell anyone I was pregnant because that’s the first thing they usually ask. I ended up being 10 weeks 3 days. I guess the only advice I have is try to do your best guess and just enjoy those weeks the best you can!

If you know when you ovulated, you count 38 weeks from that day. If you don't, I think you can count 36 weeks from about when you were supposed to get your next period. It probably won't be exact, but it's a rough estimate. Hopefully you can get a dating scan to find out for sure.

If you ovulate three weeks in instead of two, then yeah, you would be 4 weeks instead of 5.

I have a 33 day cycle and you are exactly right in your thinking. I ovulated on Day 19. I brought my chart to my OB and she manually updated my last monthly period to be five days later so that my due date isn’t five days too early. When doctors talk about inducing at 41 or 42 weeks, being a week off makes a difference! If you are sure of your ovulation date, do the adjustment to your LMP yourself when you call to make your appointment.
