Potty training tips?!

I want to start potting training my almost 2 year old son,  I’m a first time mom so I don’t know how to start or what products to use? What helped your little one? Any suggestions or tips please! Thank you

I started potty training my daughters right around 2. My first wasn’t quite ready so we tried it again a couple of months later. It was much easier then. My second daughter was fully potty trained within a week (she was super easy). I let them go bottomless (no diapers, no underwear, no pants) and put the potty in the living room where they spent most of their time. Do not buy pull ups. They’re a waste of money and they feel comfortable going in them. I also used a reward system. They got stickers or candy for pee and small inexpensive toys for poo. Never force potty training and never punish for accidents. If they’re not ready, revisit at a later time. Good luck!

Get m&ms for rewards. I'm waiting till the weather to break so my son (22 months) can run around with a bigger shirt without a diaper or pull up.

I just potty trained my son whose 2.5 in a week. Be prepared to spend an entire week inside and figure out what is the most motivating food for them. For my son that was pez. We never did the baby potty either, he has a stool and a potty seat. 
I bought a bunch of regular undies. For the first two/ three days we were in just tee shirt and undies and every 20 minutes we went to the potty to sit. We sat for 5 minutes if nothing happened I set the timer for another 7 minutes then back to the potty and I continued till we got a potty and then he got two pez. We did that until I could kind of get an idea about how long he could hold it. By day 4 he was going every 1.5 hrs. And I learned his cues( he has hearing difficulties so he does not talk). He pooped in his undies and we walked to the potty put the poopy in the potty and flushed. By day 5 ish he was only doing poops in the potty. We are now on week 3 and we have no accidents. 
I put my son in undies to sleep and he has started to hold his urine overnight and comes in my room to wake me up so we can go to the potty to poop and pee in the morning. 
The key is knowing your child and knowing they are ready. Don’t force it just because of age. We tried when he turned two and it was an epic fail. Waited 4 months, it was the easiest thing ever.

My biggest tip is potty train when your child shows readiness signs not when they reach a certain age. Don’t feel pressure due to age. It will be more messy and more work for you in the end. My son started to tell me he had to poop about a week before his second birthday. When I realized he was consistently recognizing the sign of having to use the bathroom in enough time to notify me, I decided no more diapers or pull ups(except though the night). We stayed downstairs with a toddler potty for easy access and a jar of jelly beans. I kept kept him in a t shirt and underwear from the moment he woke up until bedtime. I would put him on the toilet every 15 minutes or when I saw his doing the potty dance. He got one jelly bean for every time he made it in the potty. He also helped clean up messes and flush toilet when emptying toddler potty. By day 5 he was telling me when he had to go every time. He is now 3 and still wears a diaper to bed. He sleep 11-12 hours at night and I do not expect a 3 year old to hold it that long. He often wakes up dry or wakes up to use the bathroom but I am letting him train through the night on his own.
