I clicked 0 because my 401k is 100% employer contributed. My boss throws in 5%. Then i put my own money into a Roth IRA. 
Always do the maximum that your employer will match. It's free money. If you want to go above that, look into an IRA. It's good to have the IRA as well as the 401k as they are taxed differently.
