how did you know?

how/ when did you know it was time to end a relationship (friendship, lover, etc.)? was there a specific thing or was it an abundance of them? did you have to think about it or was there a moment you just knew it was over? 
trying to figure things out :(! anything is appreciated.

I think when you have to ask this question is when you already subconsciously know the relationship is over.

You have to honest with yourself about what you want and what the other party wants. 
I ended my previous relationship after 8 years, he did nothing wrong, but we were each other’s firsts and over the years we matured into different people wanting different things. I would have had to settle for less or forced him to do more than he wanted. I didn’t want perfection I just wanted something real with someone who wanted a similar lifestyle. 
The biggest compliment my mother ever gave about my now husband is that we are better together. And I think that is important, for your partner to make you the very best version of yourself and for you both to be stronger together than apart. 
For me I knew with my ex but I felt guilty for a while because he hadn’t done anything wrong. It did take s lightbulb moment to make me realise it wasn’t fair on either of us to continue down a path that would make one of us miserable. 
But like someone has already said, if your asking the question, it’s probably already done.
