Irregular Period or Miscarriage?

My last menstrual period ended on the 8th of this month. Had unprotected sex a week ago, and am now experiencing severe cramping, and passing clots with lots of pain. I'm not bleeding regularly, just spotting - but passing clots. What is going on with me?

Coming from someone who had an mc 8 yrs ago, I think it happens differently to different people, depending on how far along you could've been.

I had no idea I was pg, got what I thought was my normal period, but my bleeding was way heavier than normal, cramps excruciating, and it lasted longer than my normal 5 days.  The heavy bleeding lasted 5 days until it finally dwindled to light bleeding, then spotting. Went to the doctor, turns out it was a mc.  There was no way really for them to even figure out how far along I could've been.

Anyway I'm not trying to freak you out, cuz you said you're not bleeding all the time just sometimes.  So I haven't heard of that happening to anyone I know who's mc'd but really only way to know is see your doctor. I'd say if the bleeding doesn't stop, see a doctor.  It could just be abnormality with your period cuz I've heard of that too.  Good luck and if you need support you can always post here!
