Is it awkward to tell a guy who wants to hook up with you that you’re on your period?

So I met a guy at a party last week. We went back to his place and hooked up and stayed the night. I thought it was a one time thing but he messaged me about possibly coming over the next week. I knew I was going to be getting my period (and I did) so I said I was busy during the weekend.

Well now it’s Friday and he wants me to go over but it’s my fast day on my period so now it’s all brown blood. I kinda wanted to do something since classes end soon. I could always go maybe Saturday night but I might already have plans for that night.

I don’t want him to think that I’m just avoiding him, but I’m scared he will react weird if I say I’m on my period. Any ideas of what I should say?
