Is 12mo to little for toddler bed?

My son is going to be a year old soon and he is getting his own room I want to start him in a toddler bed but how do i do it? I am due in two months with my daughter and I want to use his crib for her but if he’s to young for toddler bed then I will just use bassinet for her during mean time. Any ideas or suggestions would be great!

My pediatrician recommends to keep them in their crib as long as they are trying to get out because it’s the safest place for them. I would just use the bassinet until your baby outgrows it and then make the switch.

Our daughter will be 2 next month and is still in a crib. We may be converting her crib to a toddler bed for her birthday, but we're still debating. Surprisingly, she's shown no interest in climbing out of it yet so there's really no need or rush to convert it. It's much safer at that age to have them in a crib as long as possible. Otherwise, you run the risk of them getting into something in the middle of the night and getting hurt.

My son turned 1 in march, I put him in a toddler bed since he was 11months old. It's been great. When he knows it's time for a nap he gets on his bed and goes to sleep. Same for bedtime, he gets on his bed and falls asleep. When he wakes up in the mornings he gets off the bed and comes to my room. Every baby is different, u could give it a try first

As long as everything in the room is kept safe then it should be fine! You just don’t want him to be able to get into anything that could hurt him if he gets up to play.

My son got a toddler bed at 15 months and he’s never fell out or had problems with it.

Apparently babies sleep better in a cot than a toddler Bed that's just a study I read that reccomend they stay in a cot until 3 unless they climb out before then. Up to you though as the parent ☺

I don’t think so. My first two started crawling out of the crib at 10 months so I had to switch them pretty early. My third is 1 1/2 and still no sign of trying to escape the crib 🤞🏼

You can always try and if it doesn’t work switch him again. For my daughter that would be way too young but her cousin has been sleeping in a toddler bed since he was that age just fine
