Potty training?

My son is 3 and is fighting the potty HARD. Any tips on how to potty train a stubborn boy?

I bought him new underwear with his favorite characters on them and pull-ups for overnight. We have a potty chair that goes on the toilet and a step stool. I have stickers and candy and let him choose what he gets when he goes. I set a timer every 30 minutes to take him to the potty. But more often than not when I ask him if he has to go he tells me no and when I try to sit him on the potty he screams, cries, kicks, hits, etc.
