Today at 12wks 2 days, I went in for an ultrasound to check for chromosomal abnormalities. Basically the genetic testing. However, what the doctor told me was far worse. He believes the fetus had stopped growing about 2 weeks ago and there was no longer a heart beat. So I will in fact miscarry fairly soon. That was definitely not the news I was expecting to hear. Even harder to hear since my husband could not get out of work on time and I was alone during the appointment. We have a follow up appt on Monday to confirm the findings and to go over what we do next. My heart is broken.
