Officially a College Student! 😃

Jada

Hi, guys! The last time I posted something on Eve was about 3 and a half weeks ago and it was something that really hurt my feelings, to the point that I had to call my mom to come and get me from school because I wasn’t able to stop crying after it happened. Just petty girl stuff. (Search “Toxic Friendships” if you wanna know what happened lol. Self promo 😂)

Anyway, it’s been almost a month since it’s happened and I feel so much better. And what I have to talk about it super irrelevant to that situation but whatever. Just wanted to give an update for whoever did read my previous post.

Now! On to the subject of my good mood!

Today was my orientation at Miami Dade College, Kendall Campus! Just to give you some background info, my first choice wasn’t Miami Dade, I actually wanted to go out of town for college and I applied to 5 schools (4 out of town and 1 in town). I applied to University of Florida (which was my first choice), University of South Florida, University of Tampa, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and Florida International University. I didn’t get into UF or USF, but I got into the other three. I chose Miami Dade though, since it’s free and the Pell Grant will cover my 2 years at Miami Dade.

So, I chose my classes today. So below is the list of classes I will be taking this Fall at Miami Dade College! 😃 I would also make it known that Miami Dade has a new thing where if you are a certain major, you can take classes to get a General Business Certificate that is used as sorta a minor but it’s integrated in the 60 credits you need to get your AA or AS, so that’s what some of my classes or for. Btw, I’m a Mass Communication/Journalism major, so I’ll be getting an AA.

MAR1011 Principles of Marketing, Monday’s and Wednesday’s from 1:00 to 1:50pm.

MMC2000 Into to Mass Communications, Tuesday’s and Thursdays from 9:50 to 11:05 am.

SLS1106 First Year Experience Seminar, Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 8 to 9:40am.

HUM1020 Humanities, Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 11:15 am to 12:30 pm.

Now my last two classes are a bit of a doosey. You’ll see why lol.

MGF1107 Math for Liberal Arts 2, August to October, Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s from 9:50 to 11:30 am.

MGF1106 Math for Liberal Arts 1, October to December, same time slot as 1107.

The math classes are Miami Dade trying to get freshmen to kill two birds with one stone. You take 1107 first for the first half of the semester and 1106 the second half of the semester during the same time slot so you don’t have to change your schedule. My brother told me what humanities was and I already know that it’s probably gonna make me want to die so that’s great. 😂 I have already takes both my English classes plus a Public Speaking Class, and all three of them were 3 credits each, so I have 9 credits. My fall classes are a total of 16 credits so by my 2nd semester,

I’ll have 25 credits and I’ll be a little more than halfway to graduation. Miami Dade recommends that students take at least 15 or 16 credits at a time to graduate on time, btw.

I posted this so I could get some advice from you guys, whether it be about the classes I’m taking or about college life in general. Thank you so much for joining me and my excitement. I can be super annoying if I wanna be, lol. 😂
