How does contractions feel?

I am 28 weeks and 5 days.. I am 2cm dilated.. I am not sure if I am having contractions because I have a high pain tolerance.. I do have back pain and I feel like I have to use the bathroom (#2).. I just need to know if I should go to the l&d

They feel like menstrual cramps that intensify, and with each contraction your stomach gets hard, try drinking water, walking and a warm bath if it still continues go in.

With me, my contractions began with an overall feeling of not feeling well. I was in pure denial my first pregnancy that I was in active labor. I went to work all day, contractions were on the hour in the beginning & ended with every 20 minutes. I even went shopping at BJs & picked up dinner at Moe's. Since all these places were less than 20 minutes away, I timed my contractions so not to get them while driving. But it was after dinner that the real contractions began. A tightness like no Braxton-Hicks I'd experienced. Before I left for the hospital I threw up cause I was doubled over. I kept experiencing pain on my right side under my rib in the hospital.

Thank you everyone for the advice I am on my way to l&d right now because the back pain is still there and Tylenol doesn't help

That's how mine felt. I literally woke up in the middle night and went to the bathroom because I really thought I had to go. Turns out, I didn't have to go to the bathroom, it was contractions. Mine never felt like menstrual cramps. It truly felt like extreme diarrhea cramps. (Gross I know)

Go to L&D!!!! That is exactly how I felt and I gave birth at 29+3. I had no idea I was even dialated. I had some back pain and a tiny bit of bloody discharge. It's much much better to be safe than sorry at that point. If you are only 2cm they might be able to stop them. Unfortunately by the time I got to the hospital I was already at 6 and everything they did to stop it didn't work.
