If you've co-slept.. was it easy to transition your child to their own bed or room eventually?

So I co-sleep (safely) and I wish my baby would sleep in her own bed. Everyone says it's a bad habit I'll never be able to break, but some say they transitioned with ease

Co-sleeping is different than bed-sharing. Co-sleeping is sharing a room with your baby, which can include bed sharing OR having the baby’s crib in the same room as the parents. I co-slept with my son but I did not bed share and it was easy to move him into his own room.

I bedshare with my two year old and 8month old lol and my husband. We are use to it. They finally started sleeping in their own beds but being an over protective mom ugh I just moved them back in my bed 🤦🏾‍♀️🙄😂

My oldest slept in bed with us till she was 15 months and she moved into her own twin bed super easy for us but we will see how well it works with our youngest

I think the age you transition really matters. 8 months to 1 year is going to be hard generally because babies have separation anxiety at that age. But when they grow out of that age it gets easier. Night wean first and then transition between 13-18 months.

I said it was easy BUT it was only easy when she was ready and when we found a solution that worked for her. 
We tried to put her in her room in her crib sometime after she turned one and it did not go well. At all. After two anxious scream-filled weeks, I said enough and brought her back into our bed. 
A month or two after her second birthday we bought a toddler bed and put it at the foot of our bed. No tears after the first night (and not less than an hour then) and I’d say it was routine by night three. 
The next step is going to be putting her bed into her room. Not sure how she’ll handle that. She wakes up a few times a week in the middle of the night and needs reassurance to go back to sleep.

i bed shared my son for 9 months & it was difficult for the first week of transitioning him out but after the week he was totally fine. 
i don’t think it’s a huge issue unless you continue to bring the baby back into your bed through the night or something. 
Once we transitioned he hasn’t been back into our bed unless he’s sick & needs his mama

I’ve bed-shared with each of my babies (I have 4 kids). Transitioning was easy for us.  Though my two youngest still sleep with me part of the night (2.5yr and 16mo).

We bed shared for the first couple weeks after my son was born because he just wanted to nurse all night, but we then put him in a bassinet next to our bed because we started to feel uncomfortable bed sharing. That went really well and then at 4 months we transitioned him full time into his crib in his room and it was much easier than I anticipated. The first night he woke up 5 times, but after that he went back to his normal routine of waking once or twice and has been the same since. I think we all sleep better because we aren’t keeping him up with snoring and he’s not keeping me up with all his little sweet, but loud sleep sounds at night lol. Honestly it wasn’t bad for us at all, but every baby is different.

It was technically easy for us, but I say neutral because it was a little hard on me. We co-slept in that she was in my room. However, she never even liked bed sharing, and transitioning her to her own room was easy. We had two sort of tough nights, but it had been a breeze since then.

My son was about 19 months when I stopped sharing my bed with him. We set up his new room with all of the stuff he loves in it! This made things 100% easier. I would get him to sleep like how we would when we would normally get ready but in his own bed then I would leave after he was completely asleep. It was way easier for him than for me. Just keep up with it. You’ve got this mama ☺️
