Weight loss advice / is my body normal

So I was in the early 200lbs around 6 months ago and I now weigh around the 160’s lbs and I never did proper exercise it was all mainly around my diet . I’m just wondering if it’s normal I’ve still got a big belly / big thighs ; I’m not slim yet and I do understand you have to work to get your body but I’m just surprised that it still looks nearly the same as it was in my 200 range I’m not sure what to do or what to think , someone my size would be really slim and have a great body but mines still fat it’s like the scales have the power and i don’t
