Gas or colic?

So my baby is two weeks old and she is exclusively breastfed. Since a few days old she started to moan, shake her head side to side, stretch, and her face turns red than she goes back to sleep. It seems she's uncomfortable to me. I'm just wondering if this is colic or gas and if there something I can do to help her. Is it my diet? We tried gripe water but it doesn't seem to help.

Newborns are usually very gassy since their digestive systems are extremely immature. Try Mylicon gas drops. They help break up bubbles in their belly. Gripe water is basically only herbs to aid digestion and won’t relief gas. It’s possible she has a bit of acid reflux, which is common. I wouldn’t say she’s colic. Colic has very specific symptoms.

I would agree and say it’s has (my newborn does the same thing). We haven’t had any luck with gas drops, so we switched bottles (we’re doing a mix of formula and breastfeeding) and started doing infant massage and exercises for gas (bicycle kicks, knee to elbow, etc.) 
Since you’re exclusively BFing, I would recommend YouTubing infant massage videos and reading about the different gas relief exercises you can do with baby. Good luck!!

She’s learning how to burp and fart. It’s not a natural thing for a newborn.
