Speech

Angelica

Not quite sure where I should post this but here goes....

I have a son who is a little over 1 and a half. He says probably 10ish words (give or take) mama, bawpaw, yiayia, dog, cat, snack, drink, yep, outside, hot, maybe a few others (but they aren’t clear enough for me to make out) is this normal? His pediatrician said that boys take longer to develop the “speech skill” it takes a little longer and extra effort where girls it comes easy.

I just wanted some more opinions. I feel like I’m failing as a mother and he’s falling behind.

Any tips?

On a side note he does ramble/babble (in his talk) a LOT and he goes on for 5-10 minutes so he wants to talk, the words just aren’t forming I guess you could say....
