Ok so I may just be dumb as hell but I’m confused. Ok so last Thursday I started my period. Friday I got nexplanon out and got the apri birth control. I started it today which is Monday so on day 5 of my period (which not sure if this is important but my period is still super heavy and doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon lol) ALSO my nexplanon has run out a year ago so I was not on birth control before starting this pill

ANYWAY my question is .... how long after I have started taking the pill can I have sex without extra protection (I.e condoms) so safe sex. On the package it only talked about if I start on day 1 of my period and that I’m safe right away or if I don’t start it on my period I have to wait seven days. I’ve asked my doctor on the patient portal thing but she still hasn’t answered so that’s why I’m coming here! Thank you!
