I asked my best friend of 5 years (we’re both 18) what essentials i should get for the summer, like clothes and stuff. She replied ‘a job’. It was just playful at first but then she started to get a little hurtful with her statements. Or maybe i’m just sensitive?

It was playful to me until she said ‘that will last huh’ after that i got kinda offended. I told her that i can’t get a job if i’m visiting her in the summer and she knows i can’t get a job rn for personal reasons. I know she probably meant well but it just kinda felt like an attack at me because she has a job and i don’t. I don’t wanna bring it up to her because she’ll take it personally and start cussing at me. What would you do in this situation? Am I being a sensitive bitch or was she being condescending?
