Ftm here... running on no sleep.. but just wondering.. am i the only one that feels guilty trying to take a nap after feedings when baby is awake and alert ?.. i feel so guilty..  i feel like he needs constant interaction while he's awake but at the same time i know i need my rest when i can fit some shut eye in .. 🤔😅

Don’t feel guilty, as long as baby isn’t crying or hungry take the nap!! I learned in my mommy class that it’s important babies have some time to themselves for development, we shouldn’t be entertaining them every waking moment!

I feel like I should be entertaining my baby all of the time. Baby is nearly 5 weeks old and I feel guilty putting her down while she’s awake while I do a few things. She doesn’t get upset but I feel bad if she’s just staring at the ceiling or the wall.

If you've got someone to watch him, no dont feel guilty for needing sleep. If it's just you and baby I wouldn't sleep.

The biggest change I made as a second time mom is not worrying about constantly holding/entertaining my baby. With my first I never put him down and would constantly wave toys in front of his face or talk to him. With my second I am allowing myself time for her to just be sitting in her bouncy seat or her swing. If I held her and played with her as much as I did with my first baby nothing would ever get done and my first kid would destroy my house!!
