Had brown discharge week before period

Now having thick white discharge every time I check, and my period is due within the next two or three days. Should I test or is it still too early? I thought the brown discharge and spotting was my period coming on because once or twice I saw some red in there, but since it stopped a few days ago and replaced with a BUNCH of white discharge and still no period I'm thinking I could be pregnant
