Do any other people experience Gum Aches

I’ve been having them for a while now on my period but always dismissed them as simple tooth aches.

Never had any probs until last year. Got off birth control and had cavity followed by root canal followed by infection. Went today for first medicated cycle with root canal and Endodontist. Hopefully it works. He said he does 1000 root canals a year and about 100 end up coming back with this. My first cavity and root canal and failed root canal. I’m struggling with balancing out my hormones and I know for sure it’s effected my immune system and gums. Never ever had a problem before. I know it’s connected. Has to be. 
Had two kids before birth control and got off December 2017. After 8 years on.
