Did anybody else add their baby to insurance and their deductible doubled?

I guess I’m just flustered because our deductible was $1500 and now it’s $3000 that we added the baby. Ugh. Just venting. Anyone else?

That’s exactly how they get you. Insurances are so corrupt it’s insane how much we have to pay before they decide they want to pay.

Ya, one thi g you don't hear about it before hand. Before my first my deductible was 1400 was just right about there and then bam baby born went up 200 and than had to pay for daughters stuff that was another 1500 or so. This time around since I already had family plan I had hit my deductible and my whole out of pocket max for the family in Jan. Was in the hospital with preterm so at this point the baby delivery was free 🤣

Yup! My work insurance sucks

Yup :( I was under my husbands insurance through his job and it got SUPER expensive when we added my daughter + we still have to pay monthly bills for my hospital stay. We decided that he should take me off his plan and only add our daughter, my insurance kicks in in June so my 6 week pp appt is going to be out of pocket 🙃

It’s because each person has a deductible. Yours would have been $1500 for you and $1500 for baby.
