10 MINUTE labor?!?!
After a 34 hour labor with my son... I had a 10 MINUTE labor with my daughter.
I’d been having random contractions for several days. Nothing crazy insane, and never any closer than 7 minutes apart.
My husband decided to stay home from an event tonight because he was just worried I might turn a corner and I would need him.
He got home, and I decided to take a shower and shave my legs. Got into the bathroom... super strong contraction. Climbed into the empty tub, and my water broke... and my baby started to crown. My husband called the midwife and she supported us over the phone while she raced over.
After her head came out, she got a little stuck. I just didn’t have enough room to open my hips all the way in the tub. I got in a new position and was able to push her out, but she was really floppy and not breathing so my midwife had us rub her and I gave her about 5 breaths mouth to mouth to help her open her lungs. My midwife arrived maybe 10 minutes after she was born and all was well.
I still can’t believe she came so fast. Like... shouldn’t I be in labor right now?!
