Should I go to the ER or wait?

Had signs of preterm labor yesterday went to the ER and they said I had an infection that could lead to preterm labor. Tonight I've been having period like cramps, some dull aches and some sharp pains. My vagina has been aching also? Im only 23 weeks. What could this be? I'm worried since I have the infection it could be leading to preterm already.

Don't go back to the ER, you were already there. You need to call OB Triage, if your hospital has one, or your doctors office and speak to the on call OB.

I would go to the er asap. My exs gf had an infection at 27weeks in her uterus. They didn't catch it in time and ended up going into preterm labor. Unfortunately, her baby didn't make it past day 9 as she too had an infection in her brain. Not trying to scare you, but it could more serious than the drs can see.

Call your hospital that you will deliver at and ask for labor and delivery. Explain what's happening and ask to be evaluated. I was having signs of labor as well and though it turned out to be normal (thankfully) the labor and delivery nurses will be better equipped to properly evaluate you. You'll also be seen sooner.

I would call the on call doctor or nurse.  I went last Saturday swearing I was going into preterm labor but ended up having a bacterial infection.  I haven't finished my pills yet but for the most part of of my symptoms have gone away.  You could still be having the symptoms from the infection since you just went last night
