I just started using my Ziggy menstrual cup this period and it has been great! There seems to be the teeniest bit of leakage throughout the day, but it’s seriously only the super slightest bit.

I hate tampons and have serious paranoia about toxic shock so I always wore pads, but those are uncomfortable because you feel like you’re wearing a diaper. There’s also the wasteful feeling of how much trash it all makes and how much money I’m spending on it all.

I have never used a cup before, but I tried out Softcups mostly because I wanted to be able to have sex on my period without a mess. Those worked surprisingly well, but they’re also disposable and expensive.

So I tried Ziggy Cup. It’s the same shape and idea as Softcups, but reusable silicone! It’s fabulous. My birth control implant makes my periods wonky, so I like that I can just carry this thing around for whenever I need it. My boyfriend doesn’t really notice it’s in during sex. I don’t notice it at all during sex. And it is so easy to use.

I imagine it would be a little weird in a public restroom, but it’s easy in private bathrooms and it can stay in for 12 hours so I really only empty it in the morning when I wake up and at night before I go to bed!

I’ve just really enjoyed it and it’s made my irregular periods way less annoying. I wanted to share my experience.
