Missed period neg test

So has anyone missed their period and still had a negative pregnancy test? I'm wondering if maybe I missed my period because of something else or the tests isn't reading I'm pregnant. For a few days I would eat something and then automatically feel sick afterwards. I'm wondering if I should wait to see if my period is gonna show up in 4 days before I actually go get checked out.
