How to deal with long distance relationship?

I'm really new to this and I'm not sure how to keep the relationship going.

I just got out of one and it lasted 7 months and we broke up on our 7 month anniversary because he chose an in person girl over me. So I'm just letting you know that you might want to keep them as mostly a friend and try not to catch feelings until you meet them

Well, it depends. I, personally, am not very into the whole online-dating thing, although I don't really know if that's your case. In my case, I'm in a long distance relationship too. We've been together for over 10 months. He lives in another country, on another continent altogether and believe me, it's hard as hell. The only thing I believe has kept us together is the fact that we're crazy about each other, and even when we can speak on a daily basis for more than 15 or 30 minutes straight, because our busy lives and different time zones, we MAKE TIME, even if it means we have to swallow down our food, or study through the night, and we text each other through the day, even when we know the other won't answer for a while. Love and persevereance is what will keep you together. The fact that we can't imagine a life without each other (I know it sounds pretty crazy, but it really is true) changes everything. So, do your best to keep comunicated, send each other voice messages, skype, text... It's not a matter of driving each other crazy or obssesing over it, just do it so you feel as close as possible to each other.
And try watching the same movie simultaniously, or listening to the same playlist or song... Things that make you think the distance's somehow reduced.

Patience and trust. Long story short, me and my fiance met on meetme 3 years ago and we lived 6 and a half hours away from each other, "dated" for a little while and then broke up. He got back with his ex who blocked me on everything. Around this time last year I took a chance and texted his number I had and we started talking again, we barely met face to face for the first time at the end of January and now I live with him, and we're getting married next October😁 and I couldn't be any more thankful. It's all about keeping the communication open and having faith and trust in each other..

Mine worked, we are getting married in April! My partner had a son too, he had him on weekends, yet we made it work! Saying that after 8 months I moved into his area, then by a year of being together we moved in together! It takes compromise and willingness! If its meant to be its meant to be
