Bad latch leading to tenderness and pain
Hi all. Brand new to the group as I’m brand new to motherhood (26 hours to be exact!)
Had the first feed straight after birth and it was great. Then the second feed I thought I had it right and fed my daughter on both breasts. Turns out it was a bad latch because my nipples hurt like crazy. I’ve since been shown properly by the midwife how to get a good latch, but it’s still hurting. I know this is because of the previous bad latch, but what I’m asking really is how long will I expect for it to continue hurting, now that she’s latching properly? Given the nipple damage I caused yesterday. (I have nipple cream FYI that I’m using after every feed)
