Newborn will only sleep with me!?

It's only day 5 and I'm being discharged from hospital tomorrow but I'm after some advice. Baby will only sleep in my arms or on me! As soon as I try to transfer her to the crib she wakes and cries. I'm desperate for some sleep but I don't want to co sleep/bed share so what do I do?

It will pass. Try putting a hot water bottle down in her crib before she goes in and either a breast pad or tshirt of yours so she can smell you. I was the same I really didn't want to co-sleep, I did one night but hated it. Good luck

Its pretty normal! Remember your baby have been very close to you during pregnancy, hearing your heart and other sounds 😊

Wrap her up in a blanket before she falls asleep with you, but make sure you put the blanket under her head aswell so when you place her down in her crib she won't feel any cold and it'll be like she's still asleep on you because it's warm! Much less hassle than using a hot water bottle, I do this every night and works like a charm x

Have u tried using a white noise to soothe her? My son hated sleeping in his crib and that usually makes him go right to sleep.

My LO was the same too. I slept with him on my chest most nights. But now at 7 weeks, he's starting to get used to his crib! It will pass, trust me

try and move her to the crib before she is actually asleep, like when her eyes are droopy but isn't 100% out, we also make sure to swaddle when my son is in the crib but also place a heavier blanket on top of that, to keep him a little more still and calm

This will pass soon! Our daughter was the same way until she turned 4 weeks. Now she sleeps in her rock and play for hours without any problem. Enjoy the closeness for now!

Ours did that too in hospital but was better when we got home. I think they associate the hospital with being poked and prodded

I had the same problem, my son slept with me for the 1st week but I just continued to try put him in his crib every night and by day 8 he settled
