Can i supplement newborn with formula?

My twins will be a week old tomorrow, I’ve been breastfeeding, which is going well. But we’re going on our first outing to grandmas today and it would be much easier to give formula while we’re there rather than breastfeed and pump. Is it safe to use formula instead for today?

Yes but you would still have to pump to keep your supply up. The main thing about supplementing or combo feeding is still pumping when baby is given a bottle

Just don’t. Your supply will not thank you for it, if you aren’t comfortable nursing there just pump and then give the milk for a  bottle. Why would you want to introduce formula?!
