Rant about work

Rachel
Sorry but I have to rant just a bit. So I'm a patient care assistant /stna at a hospital. We have all these younger girls getting pregnant who refuse to help pull up or change or roll 100 lb pts and no one seems to have any issues with it. Last night we have a 477 lb pt who we had to wait for a company to bring us a bariatric bed because she was so large we had 4 nurses and 2 pcas on the floor one of our nurses was sitting with a combative patient. So the bed came and one of the nurses just walked by several times and just flat out wasn't going to help, the male nurse on our floor was too busy passing meds. So me 7 months pregnant, a new pca who hasn't quite gotten the hang of lifting all that well an older nurse who bless her heart tried to lift but isn't much help and a secretary who literally was working her last night of retirement lifting this 400+ lb woman into another bed, and the girls coming in this morning were pissed that we didn't bathe this pt. We've had her before and we always bathe her on nightshift when she comes in but I literally hurt from pulling rolling and moving her all night, I was already pissed at the amount of willingness we received just getting her moved to another bed. I have issues with preterm labors and am receiving shots to try and keep my pregnancy from ending too soon, I keep getting asked when I'm going to quit lifting on these people, and told I can't believe your still doing all this by other pcas who are moms, I do my job and I don't ask to be coddled and I will until my doc makes me take off work. But I was absolutely pissed last night. I've never been so upset with my co workers. I don't want to be one of those pregnant woman who won't do things by herself or won't help pull someone up in bed or turn a pt but I'm just about ready to pull the pregnancy card when it comes to these plus sized patients and just let someone else deal with it.
