Non hormonal IUD vs vasectomy

My husband and I just had our first son about a month ago. I’m about to follow up for my 6 week pp check and my doctor wants me to discuss getting the copper (non hormonal) IUD but I’ve never had luck with birth control of any kind. I’ve tried everything except the bar in my arm and it messes with my already present anxiety so much. I haven’t been on birth control in years but I’m also aware how easy it can be to get pregnant again after having a baby (and how difficult).

I do not want to have another child of my own, I’ve never wanted more than one of my own. My husband and I have a plan to adopt when our LO is older and we’ve had this plan since we first started discussing a family years ago.

So I guess I’m here to get non-biased opinions on myself getting on this IUD birth control vs my husband getting a vasectomy. Yes IUD is cheaper to have taken out vs a vasectomy being reversed. But I’m genuinely nervous to even try birth control period because it has been so awful in the past.
