I have depression and my period always makes it worse. Periods can also make you feel very down too.
However, keep a note of it. If you have depression notice how bad the period has made it. If you don’t have depression but still become very depressed on your period, keep a record of how bad you do feel, like how extreme is the depression.
Ask yourself:
how long does this feeling last for? 
Can you cheer yourself up quite quickly?
How does it affect your everyday life?
If when answering these questions you feel concerned and feel like it’s too much to handle, go speak to a professional.
Just keep checking in on yourself.

Yes. I was on my period for a whole month bc of complications with my birth control, and it was like I was back in a depressive episode. 
Just surround yourself with people you care about that will make you feel better! I felt really sad most of the time, but I made sure my bf knew what was going on with my emotions so he cheered me up a bunch.
