HOW do you get a 12 year to stop lying? It’s like 2nd nature for her to just lie. She says her mom lies constantly (we’ve caught the mom in lies - she either ignores us, yells at us, or gets very defensive). Then when she lies to her mom, her mom gets mad. My husband and I are at a loss on what to do about the matter. My stepdaughter will say, “mom said ....” Then if we mention it to the mom, she blames my stepdaughter and calls her a liar. I was talking to my husband about it and he said, well, when she’s around it so much, there’s not much we can do.
