It’s different for everyone and depends on your storage capacity. My daughter has been nursing on one side at a time for just over a year now and it never messed anything up and I have an oversupply. The only time she takes both is right before bed but our supplies are naturally lower in the evenings.

I did one side feeding at a time which really screwed my boobs up. So I don’t suggest that lol since my daughter then had a more favorite boob. Or if you feed pump the other one to help even everything out

I usually do one boob until she's done, burp, then offer boob two which feels mostly empty when she's done but probably isn't. She's been waking so often at night that she only eats one side then is out again lol. Four month sleep regression...
