Two months ago I began an amazing career as a GM of a restaurant opened by a Top Chef and my husband got offered a protein chef position at the same place. Because we have been opening a restaurant, we decided to stop doing timed intercourse and stop all fertility medicine, and wanted to focus on the success of the business.

We have been so tired that we didn’t try very often last month, maybe twice in my fertile week. Thinking there was no chance, I went out of town on my birthday weekend with tampons packed, expecting to get my period on Sunday, the day before my birthday, but it never showed up.

Today I realized I was three days late, and I’ve been having cramps and feeling bloated and wet. Normal pms stuff for me. So I took a test at 7 am to confirm that I was not pregnant and I could go ahead and expect my period any hour now.

I was wrong. It looks like I got my birthday gift 💝
