Cold sore?

My 3 almost 4 year old nephew has a cold sore.. if he touches it and then touches his private part will he get herpes? If he touches it and then touches something around the house will I get a cold sore? If he touches it and the toilet seat will it result in herpes?

Since he has a cold sore , he already has herpes. Yes it can be transferred to other areas of his body , yes it can be transferred to you if you touch it then yourself, no it cannot be transferred on the toilet seat

A cold sore is a form od herpes first off. And yes he can spread it with direct contact. If youre worried about the toilet seat get clorox wipes during his outbreaks and wipe it down first. And yes he can spread it to his genitals. If you are concerned ask his parent to maybe get little patches called Compeed that cover tand treatthe sore so its hsrder to spread.

He already has herpes. HSV 1 cannot turn into HSV 2, but he can have a sore in either place and contact increases those odds.
Unless an open sore or your mouth or privates come in contact with his sore or bodily fluids you will not catch it. It is almost impossible to pass herpes and of the way you described.. it generally takes direct contact with sores or bodily fluids.
