Pack'n'Play or Bassinet or both?

Question

I had planned on buying a bassinet to keep in my bedroom after the baby is born. I really liked a Simmons Oval bassinet that has adjustable height and wheels. I also want a pack n play but after thinking about it, is it just redundant? Should I just keep a pack n play in our room for the first little while or would you go for both? Really fell in love with this bassinet, but I'm worried I'll use one and not the other and it'll be a waste.

I have really liked having the bassinet because it fits right next to our bed. We are a little tight on space, so will need to move a dresser to fit the pack n play when he outgrows the bassinet. It will be down past the foot of our bed, so not as easy for late night stuff. I would say go for it, and you can always sell it later 🤷🏼‍♀️

We have both and use both. Our Halo bassinet is not very portable, so it stays in the bedroom. Then the Pack n Play is out in the living area. We can have her nap there, lay in the lounger part of it, and change her on there changing part of it. I don’t feel it is redundant! 😊

I have both but only because my mom wanted to buy me a bassinet and my mil bought us the pack n play. So I’ll use the bassinet at night and pack n play for naps. When she grows out of bassinet then it’ll be just the pack n play.

We have both and worth it for us. The bedroom would be really tight with the pack n play in it right now. We are moving soon and will have a bigger space to put the pack n play in the bedroom when she grows out of the bassinet. Depends on your space situation and budget of course

We did both with no crib. Right now we have the bassinet in the bedroom and pack n play in the living room. Once he grows out of the bassinet I’ll put him in the pack n play in our room.

There are pack n plays with bassinet attachments you could use, might even be cheaper. They aren't in the bassinet for very long so getting an expensive one isnt really worth it in my opinion.

Bassinet for the bedroom and pack n play for the living room. Especially if you have an upstairs/downstairs!

I got 6 1/2 months use out of my Pack N Play and can still use it if I need to (my babe is 15 months). You won’t get that kind of use out of a bassinet

Some pack n plays have bassinets. I’d rather do that. The baby will sleep in a real bassinet a couple weeks.
