MTHFR (blood thinner or aspirin)

Okay ladies this is for those of you who have experience with this because I don’t know what to do.

I’m 13 weeks and I had no problem doing the lovenox shots during my first trimester to prevent miscarriage. But now that I’m at 13 weeks, the risk is much lower.

My dream is to have a water birth and NO midwife will take me if I’m on blood thinners.

My OB put me on them as soon as we found out (which I appreciated)

They tested me for blood clots and it came back great (before I was on lovenox)

My homocysteine levels are wonderful. (Irregular homocysteine levels make you more prone to clot)

So on paper, I’m at no risk for clotting.

This is purely preventative.

I’m hoping to ask my OB to switch me to just aspirin.

I’m praying he will say yes. My possible midwife needs it on record that I’ve been discontinued from lovenox. Then and only then can I have my dream birth.

My question, how many of you with both variants of the MTHFR defect are just on aspirin? I’m talking to my OB today and I just need to know it’s a possibility that he will agree to this aspirin plan.
