Anyone else have a cat?

When my now 4 year old was 3 months old we got a kitten that was 3 months old and they were the cutest together, napping together and everything.  Well now that tiny kitten is a huge fat cat that loves people. He goes from bed to bed every night sleeping on top of whoever's bed he's in.  Im kind of scared of him jumping in the crib or bassinet with the newborn for snuggles while we are sleeping and accidentally crushing it.  Anyone else have a cat and this concern? What do you plan to do?

I have two cuddly kitties and they never tried to sleep in my daughters bassinet or crib, but I keep them out of her nursery. When she was in her bassinet in our room they left her alone. Don’t worry!

I'm going to shut the door where the baby is sleeping. My mom told me cats smell the milk on the baby face and that's why the risk can be high for the cat to get to close.

I have 2 cats, I think when baby is in the bassinet we will close our bedroom door so kitties can’t get in. Once baby is moved to there room we will have a monitor and I will just shut the door.

My main problem is none of the doors in this house close all the way to point that they latch so kitty can open them with his paw. Someone mentioned getting one of those hook and eye closure things.  That's probably what I'll do.  This cat doesn't just want to sleep by us,  he literally sleeps on us.  I wake up in the middle of the night with him on my chest almost nightly and he's 18lbs.

I have a kitty but I’m not quite concerned with that 😊 but my cat likes sleeping by my feet or right next to my belly. But When my cousin brings her baby over my cat just smells the baby stuff then leaves him alone 😊

Was not an issue for my daughter (15 months) and either of our adult cats. Once we moved her into her own room we always closed her door at night (for noise and so no one wanders in).

I have a very friendly cat. She got in the crib a couple times (I found out later is was because she had FLEAS and she was uncomfortable and wanted to be somewhere cozy 🤢🤢) but mostly she stays away. Babies are loud and annoying to cats! 😂 but if you suspect it’ll be a problem, just make sure the cat isn’t in the room when you put down your baby and shut the door. Eventually baby will be big and strong enough that an occasional kitty cuddle won’t be a problem 🥰 if my cat wanted to sleep in my 21 month olds crib with her I’d totally let her at this point haha (she doesn’t have fleas anymore! 😂)
