Mom won’t let me wear tampons

I’m 15 and had my period for 3 years now. I hate pads because they smell and feel like diapers. I just find them uncomfortable. My mom won’t let me wear tampons bc I’m “too young” but it’s my body and it’s a period product that millions of women use. She claims they’re dangerous, and yes I know the risks of of getting stuck or causing infections but if it was that high would so many women use them? My friend let me have a few of her tampons and I actually prefer them rather than the pads. I try talking to my mom but she doesn’t want me using tampons but I feel very strongly about this topic. Any advice? Should I continue getting tampons from friends and buying them on my own in secret?
