Placenta on top of cervix - BLEEDING?

Hey! Has this happened to anyone and their placenta is right on top of their cervix and it’s caused them to bleed? I’ve been bleeding all week and had an ultrasound yesterday which showed the placenta on top of my cervix. They said that’s what COULD be causing some bleeding but aren’t sure. I’m 17 weeks 4days and I’m really worried

I had complete placenta Privia with two pregnancy one with my son he came early at 31 weeks because I didn’t know until I started bleeding so I couldn’t take the proper precautions to prevent my placenta from rupturing. And then I had it from my 13wk appointment until my 20 wk appointment with this pregnancy but thankfully my uterus grew enough that it is now just to the side of my cervix and I was cleared of restrictions .. good luck I wish you the best .

It’s called placenta previa. There are different levels of it. There’s what’s considered marginal, partial, and complete. If you’re cervix is covered completely by the placenta it’s considered complete placenta previa. I was told at my last appointment that I had a marginal case. I went in due to spotting and my doctor said that’s what was causing it. So I’m sure it’s the same with your case. My doctor said that as the uterus grows throughout pregnancy that the placenta should move away from the cervix. About 90% of the time it will move.

Placenta previa. Did your dr tell you no sex or exercise until it moves? I’m 12 weeks and was told this Wednesday. No bleeding for me though but it could cause bleeding

Hi, I just started bleeding this evening and was rushed to triage. I was so scared, I’m at week 18 and it looks like placenta is very close is touching cervix. They sent me home but I’m still bleeding a bit. I’m so scared and in lot of pain and cramps. Doc didn’t tell me to take bed rest or anything, I was just told to go to work abs follow the routine except no sex. Do you know what causes it? I did take hot showers this week and carried heavy thing? Do you think that might have caused it or anything related to food? I just want to go full term and so so worried. Any tips?
