I really wanted to do a gender reveal with a few family and friends nothing big.

My boyfriend keeps saying it’s stupid

My boyfriends mom said that people she knows that did a gender reveal party when they actually had there baby shower they only got Clothes and nothing that that really asked for on there baby registry ( I’m not talking about doing a gender reveal at the baby shower two totally separate things)

I’m not asking for gifts for the gender reveal I just want to do something fun

Did anyone have this problem of doing a gender reveal then when it time for your shower only get Clothing and not much from your baby registry?
