Has anyone had a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean)?

I had a c-section with my only child 8 years ago and I’m currently TTC. I am considering a VBAC and just wanted some insight from ladies with this particular experience. Thanks for any and all responses!!

My mom has a VBAC at home with a midwife. No issues. The cesarean she had prior was unnecessary, but they told her at the time she had to have one or her baby would die. Turned out they thought her placenta was in the way but it wasn’t. 
She had me at home with a midwife 4 years later. Everything went exactly how it was supposed to.

The risk of hemorrhage is extremely high with a VBAC.
