Lightheaded during contractions?

I’ve been having on and off contractions for the past few days. I’m 40+4 today. They’ve been getting stronger (but not unbearable), and I’m getting lightheaded during them. I actually get lightheaded before I feel the actual contraction. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? They didn’t warn me about it! 😂

I just called labor and delivery and she asked if I was holding my breath through them. I didn’t think I was, but I’m going to be a lot more conscious on the next one. I also just chugged a bunch of water in case dehydration is a cause. Hopefully this all helps!

I’m no doctor but I don’t think that’s normal. It may be a sign of blood pressure change/distress with each contraction. I’d call my doctor or labor and delivery if I were you!

Are you holding your breath through them? I know Braxton Hicks and contractions can take your breath away with the tightening. But I’d mention it to the Dr just in case
