Jumper?

I’ve always been told not to use one of these because it’s not good for a babies development. However my almost 4 months old loves when we stand him up and loves bouncing up and down. He’s also trying to sit up and pulls himself up when sitting in our lap. So I’m debating on buying this.

We got one second hand and it was great! My daughter loved it and it meant she would be fine for 10 minutes while I did a couple of chores and watch her at the same time. My daughter also had no delays. She started walking at 10 months.

My eldest son loved his when he was younger however I wasnt aware that you should not put them in it before a certain age ,( i dont remember what that is now) turns out when his legs were growing when little he was too little and it affected his muscles in both calves. He is now 12 and due to this issue some days he will walk around on his tippy toes because its too painful to walk with his heels touching the ground because it over stretches the calf muscle. He spent time in his jumper and not excessively it was just too must strain on his still developing muscles. I should have waited until he was older.

You're right that some research indicates that they're not good for development. So I personally wouldn't (& didn't with my son) use one.

I think they're fine as long as you aren't leaving them in there for hours and they're supervised. They say walkers aren't good either but I use one. We live in a ranch and the kitchen is blocked off, where steps are.  So baby can't get to the steps. She's also always supervised. My son was as well. We use it when doing quick chores like dishes or vacuuming or when we eat dinner. Then she's right back sitting with us or playing on the floor. My son had no delays whatsoever.  Even as a preemie.

My daughter had/has a jumper. She loved it. Now, she's out of the jumping phase and just wants to stand and crawl everywhere. No delays. 
But IMO, they are wayyyyy to expensive to buy for the short time that they use it. We got ours 2nd hand for a lot cheaper.

My son had it and loved it. He used it for a while. And for us, he had zero delays
