Provera & UTI symptoms

Has anyone that has taken Provera every had bladder spasms or UTI symptoms? I took it for the 10 days & started my period 7 days later. On day 2 I have painful cramps near my vaginal opening that occurs in waves & the feeling I have to urinate frequently. The doctor says not infection, but probably bladder spasms. The exact same thing happened last month when using the same medication. The doctor seems at a loss & I'm 32 & never had this issue before.
