No sex, anyone else been told no?

A couple weeks ago, my fiancé and I had sex and the next day I was discharging brown and a very very light pink. I called my doctor and she said that it was just irritation because we haven’t had sex regularly. I saw her today and now she says no sex until after our next ultrasound which is in another 2 weeks and we find out the gender that appointment. All she said was she wanted to see the location of the placenta before she gave us the green light. Did anyone else have this? Just curious why she advised that.

I had a Cerclage a month ago and I am off sex throughout the whole pregnancy! I am currently 18 weeks and haven’t had sex since week 10. I literally have wet dreams every single night! Lol hubby at least can have some fun! Good luck!

I had some pink spotting the next morning after sex, I told my doctor he wasn’t too concerned. 
Then I had brown spotting twice after that but it didn’t correlate to sex at all, but I was like 5-10weeks when these happened. 
I told him about the brown spotting at my last appointment and he said no sex until 20weeks!!! 🙄 and I said that seemed a bit ridiculous. He said he wanted me to be out of the first trimester atleast. 
Then I had my 12w scan with mfm and saw the high risk doctor(I have to see them because I have PCOS) and I told him about it. I asked where my placenta was, he said he doesn’t agree with my doctor and to just watch it. My placenta is high and on the back, no evidence of any other issues. If I have any other spotting to notify mfm or my doctor and to wait atleast a week after spotting to resume sex. 
I’m now 16w and I haven’t had any spotting since the last at like 10w.

I haven’t been told that, but it’s common. It seems she wants to wait to see where the placenta is in your uterus and if it’s possibly the reason for the brown discharge, light pink spotting.

I had spotting for the first 3 months. I was told no sex until I get the green light and then once I hit the second trimester I was told that I can have it if it’s been a week with no spotting. It’s pretty common to be told no sex. Usually it won’t last long.
